This spot offers butter flat water conditions, even if the wind is blowing 25 knots. Kiting there is similar to wakeboarding on glassy conditions. Shippagan and the Acadian Islands is an archipelago of three islands (Shippagan, Lamèque and Miscou) located at the very north of New Brunswick. On the west shore of the islands is the Baie des Chaleurs, where the water gets warm during the summer. On the east shore is the vast Saint Lawrence Gulf, where you’ll find good waves. The islands are very close to each other, creating lagoons where you’ll find outstanding flat water spots on shallow bottom. Also, there are no hills around, so the wind is always constant.

Kiteboarding Lessons:

Club Wind & Kite is the only complete Kiteboarding center in Canada. You can book packages which include your accommodation, lessons, gear, and no wind activities. The center is certified by IKO, the International Kiteboarding Organisation. Our teaching environment is amazing.

Depending on the wind directions, we teach at three different spots. Each spot is located on un-crowded nice beaches where the shallow bottom of the water makes it safe and easy to learn the basics of Kiteboarding. As there is not a mountain or hill in sight, the wind is totally constant, making this a prime spot to learn quickly!

What to do:

When the wind isn’t cooperating for your Kiteboarding lessons, Club Wind & Kite suggests that you try wakeboarding. This sport is very easy to learn and will bring you surprising sensations. If you already practice this sport, we’ll take you to outstanding spots to try it out! Club Wind & Kite offers you also to visit the coast line of the Acadian Islands during its sea kayaking excursions. Your guide will take you to some amazing secret spots where the ecosystem is unique. If you feel like working out a bit, you should go for a ride on one of our Stand Up paddle boards. This sport is the new trend of surfing. It allows you to surf waves very easily! Aside of Club Wind and Kite’s activities, the area offers you different cultural activities such as the visit of the Historical Acadian Village, the Shippagan Marine Center and the Park Eco of Lamèque. There are also cool fishing boat rides to do.

How to get here:

We are located at the very north east of the province of New-Brunswick in Canada. You must fly to Moncton airport. From here, take Hwy 11 to Miramichi, then to Tracadie, then road 113 to Shippagan and Lamèque.
